Giovanni Raniolo aka “Jitzu” was born in 1980 at Ragusa, Italy. He starts playing the piano at the age of 6, soon he starts the study of other instruments, such as electric guitar, bass and drums. From 12 until 17 he plays guitar, bass and drums in various bands; his passion though remains composition. At the age of 18 he discovers electronic music and it is love at first sight. He moves to Bologna to study at Dams (department of art, music and entertainment/music section) where he proposes a thesis entitled: “Experimentation in the field of audio technology and the rise of a popular electronic music”.
In bologna completes also his studies about home recording and digital recording techniques at the Bologna Accademy.
These were the years where he starts composing electronic music tracks that will afterwards be part of an auto-produced album called “Motion’s Sequel” (2003). He works like sound engineer at the recording and mixing of various emerging groups; at the same time he starts to get interested in the world of Djing.
On January 11 2007 his debut ep with Autist Records (Berlin): “Idiot Savant”. This ep is placed very well in the minimal Tech chart of all most popular digital stores. From here, his real career as a producer comes to life.
Now the tracks of Jitzu are played by very famous djs and he works with many labels.
In late 2009 he gave life to his own label: T-Bahn Records, where artists are asked to experiment with various forms of electronic dance music.
